Unexceptional but still engaging, this zombie movie hinges upon Daisy Ridley's determined performance. She plays Ava, a woman who goes to Australia to find her husband. An accident has wiped out an entire community, although some of the dead seem to be coming back to life, retaining their motor skills. Ava volunteers on a crew to help clean up bodies, and is paired with the laid-back Australian Clay (Brenton Thwaites). Unfortunately, she is stationed far north of where her husband might be. So when they come across a motorcycle on one of their jobs, Ava suggests they take it and ride south. The zombies aren't particularly scary, and an attempt to give them some lore doesn't quite work. But it's Ava and Clay, an unlikely duo, that makes this interesting. The Blu-ray release from Vertical Entertainment contains no bonuses, except optional 2.0 and 5.1 audio tracks, and optional English SDH subtitles.
