Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (2026)
Blight Future
By Jeffrey M. Anderson
Sam Rockwell bursts into a Norms diner in Hollywood looking like a disheveled Mad Max, in a ratty beard, covered in wires and tubes and devices, wearing a ratty raincoat and ski hat, and with one fingerless glove, and one boot. He looks insane. But he knows things. He knows things about everyone in the diner. He tells them that he is from the future. He tells them that he has been there 117 times, and that he needs them to join him to save the future. If they don't they will die in the diner. A small, ragtag band complies. There's Scott (Asim Chaudhry), Bob (Daniel Barnett), Marie (Georgia Goodman), couple Mark (Michael Peña) and Janet (Zazie Beetz), Susan (Juno Temple), and Ingrid (Haley Lu Richardson); the latter is allergic to cell phones and wifi signals. They only have to travel a few blocks to stop a 9-year-old from inventing a world-ending AI, but there are police, masked goons, and phone-zombie-teenagers trying to stop them. This bonkers movie keeps up the energy for a whopping 134 minutes, savagely satirizing our addiction to phones and our indifference to frequent school shootings. It may be too much and it may leave you feeling wrung out, but it's irresistibly zippy for the majority of its run time.
