This series of videos from MVD has nothing to do with the actual bands; it's just a bunch of critics talking about their favorite albums. But if you're a big fan, it can be illuminating to hear -- and hear about -- your favorite album in a new way. It happens that In Utero (1993) is my second favorite album, and I was fascinated to hear what the critics had to say, especially about how well this album had aged as compared to the more popular Nevermind (1991). Their take on the production by Steve Albini also gave me new perspective. This particular disc comes with a good deal of footage from the Nirvana "MTV Unplugged" concert as well as another live concert (although it never plays a complete song). And Nirvana's original drummer Chad Channing contributes a few thoughts.

DVD Details: Extras on MVD's new disc include a (pretty difficult) trivia quiz, biographies and a few brief thoughts on Nirvana's Unplugged in New York (1994) album.
