Hail McLovin
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Seth Rogen co-wrote and takes a funny supporting role in Greg Mottola's Superbad, though the movie is focused on younger characters, a trio of high school boys and their efforts to find their place in the world. Michael Cera is Evan, the sensible one, Jonah Hill is Seth, the vulgar, bossy one, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse is Fogell, a.k.a. "McLovin." Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg apparently based the film on their own formative years, and Judd Apatow produced. Like all Apatow productions, it's far too long but it has a winning combination of cleverly crude humor and genuine sweetness.
