The Fantastic Bored
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Andrew Bujalski's amazing Funny Ha Ha first screened at the 2004 SF IndieFest and outshone everything else there. A disturbingly funny portrait of bored Boston college grads, the film follows Marnie (Kate Dollenmayer) through her minor boy troubles, job changes, and vague attempts to improve her life. The film's acutely composed dialogue is at once disturbingly empty and brutally poignant. After languishing for over a year, the Red Vic opened this undiscovered nugget for a week's run.
