Glimpses of Death

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

Alex (Devon Sawa) dreams of an airplane crash and gets himself and his friends off the plane -- just before it actually crashes. It turns out that, perhaps, they were supposed to die after all because death itself seems to be stalking them, one by one. That's the clever setup for this highly effective chiller. The dialogue, by Glen Morgan, James Wong and Jeffrey Reddick, is, for the most part, thoughtful and the death scenes are delightfully gruesome. Ali Larter co-stars as "the cute girl." Several sequels followed, starting with Final Destination 2 in 2003.
