In this black comedy from France, a father brings home a pet rat and strange things begin to happen. His daughter jumps out of the window and becomes a paraplegic. His son comes out of the closet and has gay sex parties with the maid's husband. The maid has sex with the daughter's boyfriend. The mother has sex with her gay son. But what happens to the father is truly twisted. Directed by Francois Ozon with a cast of unknowns, Sitcom keeps just the right tone and distance to be amusing. It's a little like John Waters crossed with Eric Rohmer.
