The absolutely classic Mystery Science Theater 3000 Box Set Vol. 1 (1988, Rhino, $59.95) collects four of the top-rated episodes: Bloodlust (1961), with Robert Reed, the beach movie Catalina Caper (1967), the famously bad carpet monster movie The Creeping Terror (1964) and Skydivers (1963). For the uninitiated, a human and two robots sit at the bottom of the frame and make fun of these very cheesy movies. As a bonus, the flip sides of the discs contain the uncut versions of the films.
