Cartoons of Christmas

Buy Walt Disney Animation Collection: Volume 7 - Mickey's Christmas Carol on DVD

I love all four of these cuddly Christmas cartoons, and all of them are available elsewhere, but this is the first time they've been assembled into such a nice, compact collection. First we get Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983), with Scrooge McDuck perfectly fitting the bill as Ebenezer. Then there's Don Bluth's bittersweet The Small One (1978), about a boy forced to sell his beloved misfit donkey at the market. The short, Pluto's Christmas Tree (1952) has Pluto chasing Chip 'n' Dale around the title tree, using some delightfully colorful backgrounds. Finally, we get the gorgeous "Silly Symphony" cartoon Santa's Workshop (1932). Disney is releasing this in September, probably to get a long jump on the holiday season, but I'll be watching it again in December.
