I never wrote a proper review of The Opposite of Sex. The following comes from my 1998 San Francisco International Film Festival wrap-up story.

Don Roos' The Opposite of Sex is a major-Hollywood indie-film (is there any difference anymore?) with Christina Ricci as a 16-year-old bad girl who gets mixed up with her gay half-brother and a bunch of other weirdos. All kinds of stuff happens, from the ludicrous, to the touching, but none of it seems to ever get together in the same movie. Lisa Kudrow and Lyle Lovett also star.
