Set in Louisiana, this romantic, smokin' hot vampire soap opera is terrifically entertaining and addicting. It throws in new erotic and/or supernatural just when you least expect it. The characters each come with their own sense of humor, and keep growing stronger and more interesting, especially Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a clairvoyant who strives to keep people's thoughts out of her head. She becomes enthralled when she meets handsome, gentlemanly vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and she can't hear his thoughts; she can finally relax. That's not so good for her boss, bartender Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), who is in love with her. Also available on Blu-Ray.

With: Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Chris Bauer, Nelsan Ellis, Jim Parrack, Carrie Preston, William Sanderson, Alexander Skarsgård, Todd Lowe, Lois Smith, Lynn Collins
Written by: Alan Ball, Charlaine Harris, etc.
Directed by: Scott Winant, Michael Lehmann, John Dahl, Daniel Minahan, Alan Ball
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Running Time: 720 minutes
Date: December 21, 2009
