Devil's Den (2006)

Rating: 2 1/2 Stars (out of 4)

Low Bar

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

Buy Devil's Den on DVD

On the same night, four humans wind up visiting a remote strip-joint populated by sexy women that eventually turn into demons. Quinn (Devon Sawa) and his buddy Nick (Steven Schub) wish to try out their supply of Spanish Fly before attempting to sell it, while Caitlin (Kelly Hu) and Leonard (Ken Foree, from the original Dawn of the Dead) have more sinister agendas. A busty waitress, Candy (Karen Maxwell), joins them. It's ridiculous, of course, but the film seems aware of this fact and runs with it. Newcomer director Andrew Dunt gives the film a lively energy and a light step. The screenwriter, Mitch Gould, is also a stuntman.

DVD Details: Starz Home Entertainment released the movie on DVD, complete with a DVD-Rom screenplay, an audio commentary track, a blooper reel, a photo gallery and a making-of featurette. (Note: The IMDB credits Jeff Burr as director, but I'm told by a representative of Starz (who queried the film's producer) that Dunt is the true director.

Starring: Kelly Hu, Devon Sawa, Ken Foree, Steven Schub, Karen Maxwell, Dawn Olivieri, Ken Ohara, Melissa Barker, Jacki R. Chan, Kelly Guerrero, Robbyn Leigh, Eva-Maria Leonardou, Sarah Long, Robbin Ryan
Written by: Mitch Gould
