Andrew Bujallski's amazing Funny Ha Ha first screened at the 2004 SF IndieFest and outshined everything else there. A disturbingly funny portrait of bored Boston college grads, the film follows Marnie (Kate Dollenmayer) through her minor boy troubles, job changes, and vague attempts to improve her life. The film's acutely composed dialogue is at once disturbingly empty and brutally poignant. After languishing for over a year, the Red Vic (1727 Haight St., SF) opens this undiscovered nugget today for a week's run.
