In Takashi Shimizu's Marebito (2004), Japanese director Shinya
Tsukamoto (the man behind the disturbing films A Snake in June
and Vital) plays a fear-obsessed television cameraman, who
descends into the underworld beneath Tokyo and makes a surprising
discovery. Shimizu reportedly shot this atmospheric, hypnotic digital
video wonder in about 8 days between Grudge movies. Tartan's 2006 DVD release comes with new interviews
with both Shimizu and Tsukamoto as well as producer Hiroshi Takahashi. It also
comes with the theatrical trailer and trailers for other Tartan releases.
