Not So 'Fast'

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

This brain-dead action flick follows the adventures of a bland undercover cop (Paul Walker) who infiltrates a renegade racing gang, led by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), and falls for Dominic's pretty sister (Jordana Brewster). It's all testosterone and swagger, and tries so hard to be cool that it's just the opposite. Roger Corman made a 1955 film of the same name, with a different story, and for a tiny fraction of the budget. The even worse sequels 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift followed.
